My wife, Roberta and I, were extremely fortunate to have enlisted the real estate services
of Ms. Nancy Martínez at Virginia Cook, Realtors. We had decided to downsize and wanted to study the condominium market at a leisurely pace.
For openers, Nancy directed us to her very complete website at NancyMartinezHomes.com
where we could select a geographical
area and certain specifications (e.g., three bedroom only) and see pictures and all details of every condo
listed for sale in that
area. In addition, when we specified the area(s) she set me up to automatically receive
an email as condos came on the market.
Thus, without ever leaving our house we obtained a grasp of what we liked and disliked about the various condos.
We then began to select a few condos to go see – Nancy would set appointments at our convenience – meet us and show us around.
As she became accustomed to our preferences, she would suggest condos that we may have overlooked or, in some cases, dissuade us
from a visit that she new would be a disappointment. Never did she put any pressure to do anything but move at our own pace.
After several months, thanks to her suggestion we found a condo that would meet our needs and might be within our budget. Nancy
was most helpful in the development of our offering price and terms. She drew on comparable sales in the area, her perceived eagerness
of the seller to complete a deal and what terms might be reasonably accepted. Although she would be receiving a part of the selling
agent’s commission, Nancy never once forgot that she was working for us. She showed no fear in dealing with the other agents in
trying to get us the very best deal possible. When negotiations sometimes looked hopeless, she would suggest a revised approach
to get things back on track. She was very professional and thorough in preparing all documents along the way.
When the parties finally agreed, and a sales contract was sent to the title company, Nancy set up necessary inspections and helped
obtain repair bids. After closing, she met us at the condo with the keys and introduced us to friends that she knew in the building.
Nancy made the whole process smooth and she found us our new home. I would recommend her to anyone.
