| More than any other home, living in a high-rise condominium is about
lifestyle. In contrast to a suburban single-family home, a high-rise condo
generally offers a superior view, attentive personal services, enhanced
security, convenient access to a variety of common area facilities, and a
location closer to urban centers of dining, shopping, and entertainment.
The downsides of high-rise living are homeowner association dues
commensurate with the services provided, diminished control over what you can
do in and to your home, and diminished privacy. |
| Developers build vertically where land prices are high.
Consequently, nearly 90% of
Dallas County high-rise condominium units are in a 3- by 7-mile area from Downtown to North Dallas, which
is the area you can see on the diagram there on the right. Other areas are
in Far North Dallas, Oak Cliff, and Las Colinas. |
 |
| I have created this website to help you find
the right high-rise home. The best way to learn about Dallas high-rises is
to click on the area you are interested in there on the left or see the
full list below. |
| To help you assess what home is right for you, I have outlined some Tips
for Buyers. |
| In Texas, a real estate broker can represent a buyer, and as an agent of
Virginia Cook, Realtors, I have helped many buyers find the right
high-rise home. An Accredited Buyer's Representative, I have received
special training in this important facet of real estate. |
|
| Here's a list of Dallas County residential high-rises. The number of units in this chart are to the best of my knowledge, but
may change as developers revise their plans or units are combined
or sub-divided. This chart is updated weekly so numbers in MLS
at this moment may differ slightly.
|
| Incidentally, not all units for sale, particularly those offered by
developers, appear in MLS. Further, the number “In
MLS” will not always match the number of homes I list for a
particular high-rise because some agents do not want homes they're
representing showing up on any website but their own. Go figure. Anyway,
maybe that's another reason to use a buyer's agent. :)
